Planning and feasibility study
Kingman and Heritage Islands are a gem in the District. This place is an escape in the city, an oasis of wild in our backyard. Even so, the largest park owned by the District of Columbia needs amenities - a visitors center, river tour boat access, actual restrooms... and a staff to run this park. With a focus on natural resources preservation and education, a plan has been developed with the visitor experience in mind.
The District Department of Energy and Environment has commissioned a planning and feasibility study for Kingman and Heritage Islands.
If you think it would be great if the District funded the elements of this plan: tell your councilperson and the mayor.
